Who said that Katie Holmes is allowed to look elegant and to wear high heels (and I wasn't the first, speculations about this started ever since they first came public with their relationship) when she is not in Tom Cruise's company, was a true genius. These photos were taken the day before yesterday in Paris, where Victoria Beckham took her new best friend Katie Holmes to fashion week and a girls' night out... shopping, what else? The thing with Victoria is that she rarely does anything else (she doesn't party that much), so we must assume that she has a lot of knowledge on this to impart to others who are not as fortunate as she was. The good thing about their 'escapade' was that we finally got to see Posh back on her good fashion sense and that she managed to inspire Katie, too. The two stars sported - as you can see - stylish outfits that, coincidence or not, were in contrasting colors. Another issue that makes us literally happy (sigh of relief) is that the who-knows-when-future Mrs. Cruise is looking positively beautiful. In the couple of photos that the paparazzi got to snap on the occasion, Katie can be seen smiling radiantly and, with make up and the tiniest hint of a hair stylist's touch, she makes for a glamorous appearance. Victoria, on the other side, no matter how stunning and stylish, still refuses to smile. It must stem from something she has against the entire world, and not just the photographers, we tend to believe. Anyway, that has been established long ago: Posh is able to do only so much like shop, pout, show breast and not smile. Anyway, it's good to see their relationship cementing and people will always be glad to see Kate out and... we'll say it if no one else will, not with Tom.
