New attempt to change the search engine's results

A GoogleBomb can be defined as an attempt to change the results of a search engine, in most cases Google. Very often, these modifications concern political persons or celebrities that are related with humorous terms. For example, if you type stupid and press search, Google will return Paris Hilton as the first result (this is just an example, it doesn't really exist). One of the most recent and popular GoogleBomb concerns George W. Bush that was returned as the first result for every user that searched Google for the term a**hole. I think nobody likes these changes added to the Google Search because when you really need to search for information it will return you something different.

A GoogleBomb can be done with ease. As you may know, Google is indexing webpages by the number of backlinks that represent a link to a specific website placed on another page. Attackers are using this method to place multiple backlinks to a webpage that provides incorrect information.

This time, the GoogleBomb is related to the Israeli Prime Minister that is returned as the first result for a "total failure" search. Webpronews reported the issue and said "Ohmert's younger critics took to the blogosphere to smear the Prime Minister's name through use of a tactic called the Google bomb. By linking the phrase 'kishalon charutz' to an online profile for Ohmert, a number of bloggers were able to make that a top result on Google."

"A 20 year-old blogger who did not particularly like the prime minister initiated the prank. He turned to hundreds of his blog's readers published on a popular Israeli blog site and asked them to add links to their sites through the words "complete failure" which would redirect the view to Olmert's sites," the publication said according to TotallyJewish.
