It wasn't just the Chancellor who was deleted, the same thing happened to all other female leaders present at the march

Just days ago, millions of people marched in Paris to take a stand against terrorism. The march was organized in the aftermath of a series of attacks that occurred in France's capital city and that translated into the death of as many as 17 people.

Well over 40 world leaders took part in this march, among them German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, and EU foreign affairs and security chief Frederica Mogherini, who all happen to be women.

The thing is that, by the time the news about this march reached people in Israel, Angela Merkel, Anne Hidalgo and Frederica Mogherini were no longer a part of it. That's right, these world leaders got removed from the event, sort of.

Now you see them, now you don't

Reports say that it was folks running a Jewish ultra-orthodox newspaper dubbed Hamevaser who saw fit to cut out Angela Merkel, Anne Hidalgo and Frederica Mogherini from a Paris march photo before going ahead and running their story about this event.

Mind you, they have a perfectly sound explanation for why they did so. In a nutshell, they thought that, by removing these three female world leaders from the photo, they would honor the memory of the 17 people killed in Paris earlier this month and protect their children's innocence.

Thus, it is understood that, as far as the people running Hamevaser are concerned, women have no business making public appearances simply because having them parade around goes against the modesty that they are expected to show at all times.

Not a very smart move

The Israeli newspaper might claim that it removed Angela Merkel, Anne Hidalgo and Frederica Mogherini from the Paris unity march photo precisely because it wanted to honor the memory of those lost in the terrorist attacks, but many are having trouble seeing things their way.

It's been argued that, by editing the photo, Hamevaser only managed to disrespect the unity march, which was supposed to be about people taking a stand against terrorism and not about men getting together to fight the bad guys while the women waited for them at home.

Looking to prove how wrong the Israeli paper was in cutting the female world leaders from the photo, a satirical newspaper dubbed the Waterford Whispers News even ran a story about how all the male world leaders who attended the march were removed from photos of the event by a feminist group.

Mind you, the Waterford Whispers News even had a photoshopped picture showing Angela Merkel, Anne Hidalgo and Frederica Mogherini hanging around a street in Paris all by themselves, accompany their satirical article. The photo in question is available below.
