Israel’s Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has announced the launch of a new program called “Magshimim Le’umit,” whose main goal is to enhance the country’s cyber warfare capabilities by training 16 to 18-year-old youths for a period of three years.

The program, which should help Israel build what they’re calling a digital Iron Dome, is meant to help the country in handling cyberattacks launched by Iran and other enemies.

“To the outstanding pupils that are studying in the special program, I say: ‘You are the future interceptors for the State of Israel’,” Netanyahu said.

“We are one of the world’s leaders in the field of cybernetics, and we must maintain this position. Therefore, we will continue to cultivate the generation of the future.”

The new program is supported by the Israel National Cyber Bureau (INCB) and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
