Helal Linux 4.0, an Ubuntu-based operating system with support for Arabic languages that has both GNOME Shell interface and Unity, has been released.

Helal Linux 4.0 is based on Ubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) and comes with an assortment of desktop environments that should suite everyone.

Highlights of Helal Linux 4.0:

• Linux kernel has been updated to version 3.8; • Gnome Shell 3.6, Gnome Classic, and Unity 7 desktop environments have been implemented; • Support has been implemented for the Nvidia Optimus technology from Helal Control Center; • Chromium is the default browser instead of Mozilla Firefox; • Unity-Online Search has been stopped by default; • Some Islamic apps, like Monajat and Othman, have been already installed.
