Steve Jobs biography author Walter Isaacson remarked at a breakfast conversation hosted by Fortune that Steve Jobs lives and breaths through the experience of two key Apple executives, one of which is an operational wizard, the other a design guru.

Walter Isaacson, author of the bestselling biography on Steve Jobs, said that current CEO Tim Cook and Apple’s SVP of Industrial Design Jonathan Ive form “the two halves of Steve’s personality.”

He specifically remarked that the two execs are “joined at the hip.” In his biography on Jobs, Isaacson quotes Ive as saying “If we’re working on a new iPhone, for example, he [Jobs] might grab a stool and start playing with different models and feeling them with his hands, remarking on which ones he likes best. Then he will graze by the other tablets, just him and me, to see where all the other products are going.”
