Would you say the iWatch is meant for sports and fitness fans or the fashion industry? Apple certainly seems to think the latter. According to a report published by Reuters, the Cupertino, California-based tech giant has invited a new group of people to their event on Tuesday, September 9.

This time it is not developers, but fashion editors and bloggers that activate under the same umbrella. That's because the iPhone may not be the big star of the night and its place is going to be shadowed by the mighty iWatch.

Lea Goldman, who is the features and special projects director for Marie Claire magazine, was invited there for the first time. She believes Apple will unveil a wearable device. "This suggests Apple is serious about tapping into the fashion world, which often sits on the sidelines," Goldman said.

As expected, Apple has declined to comment on this matter. The company has entered a hiring spree and the most important new employees come from the design and fashion industry. Angela Ahrendts, former CEO of Burberry, Tag Heuer's global sales and retail vice president, Patrick Pruniaux and Paul Deneve, the former Yves Saint Laurent CEO, are part of Apple's team now.

Apple is expected to unveil a smartwatch-like device that will only go into retail next year. However, the new device is said to be working closely with the iPhone 6 so that's why Apple chose to announce it earlier. We still have to see if the rumors are true on that matter.
