With Windows 9 on its way and Windows XP nearly retired, Windows 8 is no longer in the spotlight, so users have stopped talking about the Metro UI or the lack of a Start button.

But in reality, Windows 8 adoption remains quite low more than one year after launch, even though Redmond has already introduced Windows 8.1, a large update that was supposed to fix some of the issues experienced by users with the core operating system.

Windows 8 was officially launched on October 26, 2012 and Microsoft promised that the majority of users running older platforms would switch to the new release by the debut of the next full Windows build sees daylight.

Unfortunately for the software giant, things have gone awful for Windows 8 and the modern operating system is now barely powering 10 percent of the desktop computer worldwide, even though the parent company has invested a fortune in an attempt to make it successful.

With Windows 9 expected to debut in April 2015, chances are that Windows 8/8.1 adoption would remain low, which means that this so-called modern OS version could really become the new Vista.

With all those being said, we’re not going to say any other good or bad thing about Windows 8, but ask you, our readers, to share your opinion about Microsoft’s latest attempt in the OS world using the comment box after the jump.

If you can’t really decide whether Windows 8 is good or not, here are a few questions that could help build up an answer for us:

• Do you find Windows 8 better than Windows 7? • Did you get used to work on the desktop without a Start button and if yes, how long did it take to embrace the Start screen? • How often do you use Metro apps? • Do charms really come in handy on a desktop PC? • Is Internet Explorer Metro a neat way to browse the web? • Do you think that Microsoft has made the right decision by bringing back the Start button in 8.1?
