Is This How the Skype Story Ends?

As you have probably found out, Skype is now in EBay's backyard, after a transaction whose value has greatly surpassed the PayPal one.

The first conclusion is that e-commerce will never be the same again. Thanks to the integration with Skype, online auctioning
will be completely different from what we knew.

So far, the EBay's 157 million clients had to finalize the transaction via e-mail, which implies 5 million e-mails. From now on, everything will take place faster.

It's likely that EBay's example will be followed by other e-commerce giants, and quite soon, we won't need to fill in any forms, a simple VoIP call being enough for any transaction.

It is not clear whether Skype will continue to be available to the other 53 million users. Let's hope that EBay will still allow free access to Skype.
