Someone, help! Quick, call the Police... SWAT... the Navy SEALS... the Ghostbusters... anyone! Lucy Liu has been taken over by a giant, pink marshmallow monster who seems to control her every move! Oh, that's not a monster, you say. But what is it then? Is is a strange, alien disease? Someone call Tom Cruise then. Kidding. The fact is, Lucy got carried away while putting in an appearance at a Valentino fashion show in Paris, where she showed up dressed like some sort of cartoon monster, looking as if she was about to devour the entire audience. I have no idea where the oversize pink buff ball coat came from, but I'm sure that at least one alien space ship that's currently in hiding on the Earth surface is missing an outfit.
The fact is, the rest of Lucy's outfit looks OK - the figure-hugging purple frock works well with the silver stilettos (well, I can't see the purpose of the purple ribbon on the actress' shoulder but that in itself is a minor detail) and except for the outrageous pink wrap Lucy would have been a pleasant appearance. In my own personal opinion, the actress - who is
now starring in a new TV series called "Cashmere Mafia" - got carried away by the fact that her character's outfits are created by the costume designer Patricia Field, who also created Carrie Bradshaw's sometimes risqué ensembles in "Sex and the City"and decided to make a little bit of a fashion statement herself. Only trouble is, she appears to have stated the wrong thing, because the only feeling I get while looking at her is "I wonder which giant mushroom she vandalized in order to make that wrap look so buff and... mushroomy".
"The other day my character was wearing a gold lamé striped dress with a coffee-hued belt, black leggings and green earrings", Lucy had previously stated in relation to her character's choice of clothes in the TV series I mentioned above. "Mixing and matching is contagious". Well, then, do something about it and get yourself into decontamination, cause this case of mixing and matching is likely to cause headaches and nausea in other people. And in the name of Carrie Bradshaw, lose the wrap - it makes you look... poofy. Trust me - the world will be a much better place without it.
