Yes, it is and it's loving every minute of if!

Tinseltown is filled with examples that money is the best way to get everything in life so, taking this into consideration, I say: today's topic is 'Is Hollywood a whore? Would it sell its very soul for a couple of bucks?'. To get things started, let me just answer this for you from the onset: of course it is and of course it would.

Now that that's off the table, I should probably justify in some way or another what exactly was that made me choose this topic for discussion. You see, earlier this week, there was this certain rumor floating about, according to which Britney Spears (yes, I know, she seems to be everywhere these days and to come up in every conversation!) was hiding her second child, Jayden James, from the world because she was thus trying to up his price. Hearing this, I instantly remembered how former glamour model Anna Nicole Smith sold various personal photos of her and her family in an attempt to regain something of the financial stability she was once familiar with.

Now you see why I came up with the heading for this post: it's because there are too little sacred things left in Hollywood and even they can be sold for the right price. It's a city where money always has the last word and in which nothing is too low for one celebrity to stoop to. Just like with a whore: if you pay her enough dough, she will do anything. Basically, Hollywood (seen as the sum of all the celebrities - from film, music and the entertainment industry in general - that live in it) is selling itself each and every single day for a mere buck... if that doesn't make it a bona fide whore, then I guess the girl in high platform shoes that prowls the streets at night (that we see on TV or that lives just around the corner) is a saint!

Let's take Anna Nicole Smith as a case study. As much as she deserves to be left alone and not to be ridiculed during this period of mourning in her life, only a fool could honestly say that her main motive, her main goal in life, generally speaking, is not money. Even more, if she could, she would probably sell her soul to the Devil himself (perhaps also f**k him a couple of times)... and then she would sue his ass to get some more!

First, when her 20-year-old son died by her bedside in a Bahamas hospital, the media was more than careful with the stories that got published about her. She might have been a renown party girl (and former stripper) who married a man who could have easily have been her great-grandpa (sure, it was love!, she said) for his many millions (of which she still hasn't seen zilch) but the death of a son is something terrible and people respected her grief. Anna got the same attitude from the press even when she went and sold a bunch of photos with Daniel, taken only a couple of hours prior to his death for $200,000.

The circle of silence was finally broken when people learned that she had married her former attorney and best friend, Howard K. Stern and the pictures of the legally non-binding ceremony were later acquired by 'People' magazine for $1 million. And, as the cherry on top of the cake, she also sold (this time, to a television network) the tape Stern shot of her while having a C-section and giving birth to Dannielynn Hope... for an estimated $1.5 million.

Now, a former fling of Anna's, celebrity photographer Larry Birkhead (who also claims to be Dani's father) says that she is again up to her old tricks and that she's 'pimping' the child in order to squeeze more money from the tabloids. Forced to move from the house she lived in until now, Smith is said to be desperate to get her greedy paws on more money because, you see, she can't pay for the one she just moved in. But the best part of this is that, eventually, someone will take those photos Birkhead is talking about off her hands... with some cold hard cash!

And now it's Britney Spears' turn to come into the spotlight (not that she's been out of it or anything). Britney also has some experience with selling pictures of her babies, from back in the time when she gave birth to Sean Preston Federline. His first official photos went to 'People' Magazine (not for a lot, a meager $300,000) but Britney didn't see a penny because Kevin, the man whom she is now divorcing, got the entire sum.

That is why the media is now speculating that she might be trying to sell the pictures of Jayden James, too. Her second child was born almost four months ago and no one has ever seen him - which could be reason enough to believe that she is intentionally hiding him to up his value on the market. Plus, they say she is asking almost $2 million, money that she will get to keep for good once her divorce is finalized. But chances are Brit Brit is not that smart as to make such a wise decision (financially speaking, of course) all on her own and without someone guiding her every step of the way. Seriously, this is the same woman who flashed the entire globe at least five times during one single week! You think she'd be capable to concoct such a devious plan?

These two are just two instances of female celebrities who literally sold their children to the media. Of course, there are also other cases that could be brought up, like that of Angelina Jolie and her 'bundle of joy', Shiloh Nouvelle Jolie Pitt, Katie Holmes and her Suri Cruise and Nadia Comaneci and her son Paul Dylan. In all these instances, a couple of photos (pieces of paper with faces on them, as my grandmother would say) were sold for sums in the range of many millions of dollars (which, at least in Angelina's case, went to charity).

I guess I made my point: stars would do anything for money. That's why their humble place of abode, none other than the glam Hollywood, is the perfect example of whoring out. If you've got the money to pay, you can get all 'services' included - wham, bam, thank you ma'am! Leave your money on the cabinet on your way out.
