There's been plenty of speculation regarding the possibility of having Apple design its very own mobile phone which will offer iPod-like features. People have expected this to happen ever since the Motorola ROKR proved to be such a huge disapointment and Apple was believed to step in and show everybody how a musical phone is supposed to be built.
Things really
heated up when it was found that Apple filed four trademark applications for the term "Mobile Me", which everybody soon connected with the idea that the company is indeed trying to develop a mobile phone. Still, experts claim that there isn't any real indication the company is interested in offering a mobile phone and moreover, it wouldn't exactly make sense in creating a very dangerous competitor for the iPod MP3 players.
Early this month, Apple filed applications for areas like computer services, providing music via a local or global communication network, portable digital electronic devices and software, and telecommunication services.
The company didn't make any comment on this subject, but people started talking and there's already an entire history of this supposed iPod mobile phone. Still, Apple shouldn't be interested in offering a mobile phone that will probably sell like crazy if it will indeed feature iPod-like qualities and have customers turn their back to the number one MP3 player, which has already sold over 42 million units all over the world.
