The development team at Irrational Games says that the new playable Elizabeth in the Burial at Sea DLC for BioShock Infinite will be more than just Booker DeWitt in a dress and will offer a range of unique gameplay opportunities.

Amanda Jeffrey, a leading developer on the downloadable content, tells IGN that "If we were to just put Booker in a dress, then that would be the most awful betrayal of what we’re doing for Liz, and players would just feel like it was a cheap way out, and that’s not something that we want to do."

Burial at Sea is designed to take players back to Rapture, under the sea, before it was affected by the Splicer epidemic.

Gamers will be able to explore the world and deal with a yet unmentioned threat.

The DLC will be launched at some point in early 2014.
