Also, it is protected both from physical harm and unauthorized data access attempts

Most USB Windows To Go flash drives on the market lack advanced encryption capabilities, or have no encryption at all, but Imation's new IronKey Workspace W700 is not one of them.

Windows To Go flash drives are storage devices which can hold an installed version of the Windows 8 Enterprise operating system.

Essentially, you can plug the USB drive into any PC and the system will boot Windows 8 immediately, without any hardware configurations or anything else. It literally allows you to take your work with you everywhere.

The IronKey Workspace W700 is one of those Windows To Go drives that also boast AES-256 bit hardware encryption, as well as a high level of operational and physical endurance: FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certification, required by civilian and military federal agencies.

In fact, CAC (Common Access Card) and PIV (Personal Identity Verification) are supported, making the drives doubly well suited for military personal.

Moreover, the drives are waterproof and clad in “indestructible” metal. They should survive drops, throws, strikes and even being run over by heavy objects. Willful tampering with the insides should also be very difficult.

As for capacities, Imation is offering the IronKey Workspace W700 in 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB options. You should be able to use them with any PC and Mac system, though not all tablets are supported.
