AppMania, an independent game development company headquartered in Kyev (Ukraine), has announced the upcoming availability of its new, 3D iOS shooter game, "Iron Wars". The title is expected to appear in Apple’s App Store by the end of December 2010, the company said.

Iron Wars is described by AppMania as an exciting 3D shooter where players wage “a battle between futuristic iron balls in top-down view and in real time.”

The developer believes that its iOS game recreates the atmosphere and dynamics of the best action games with “colorful graphics and thoughtfully designed gameplay [that] will carry you away into unique world of the Iron Wars and make you want to stay there for some time.”

Players can battle each other via network choosing the single-user campaign consisting of 32 different missions, or choose quick match mode, to play with customized bots on a map of their choice.

The battle takes place in different arenas, some of which include "space platform", "abandoned mine", "forest", and "cemetery with a vault", App Mania said.

As far as equipment goes, the game offers a vast variety of weapons and bonuses from traditional (first-aid kit, armor) to brand new ones (ram), the developer claims.

A gameplay video has been uploaded by AppMania (embedded below) so that iOS customers can draw a picture of what Iron Wars will be like when it’s approved by Apple.

According to the Ukraine-based iOS developer, Iron Wars key features include:

- 32-level campaign - Network game via Wi-Fi with up to 4 players per map (Bluetooth and Internet modes in the nearest updates) - Possibility to play online with other iPad and iPhone owners - Customized game with bots - 8 different maps in 5 settings - Dynamic sounds - Three different game modes (Death Match, Team Death Match, Domination) - Vast variety of weapons and special bonuses on the maps - Score table developed on the direct sharing basis to show just your own and your friends' results

Best of all, AppMania notes, the game will be available completely free of charge.

“Only after you try the game and like it, you will be able to download new maps and new game modes for a token charge ($1-$2),” the company adds.

“This way you will support us as developers in our undertaking so that very soon we could present updates for you to enjoy. Take up the challenge and become a participant of the Iron Wars!”, the studio states.

AppMania has been a mobile game developer since 2008 and has released games like "Demolition Master", "DreamBook", "Farm It!", and "BattleSheep!".
