Since we’ve officially started the countdown to the end of the year, it’s time to have a look back at some of the movies that most got people online to search details about them. Bing has released its top 10 Most Searched Movies list for 2013.

Now, showing up on this list doesn’t mean that the movie was good or successful or the opposite of either of these two, but it does mean that it managed to strike a chord with people at home enough to have them go online to look up more stuff about it.

For the US, the top position goes to “Iron Man 3,” Marvel’s third installment in the Robert Downey Jr. franchise, which has turned out to be a hit with fans and critics alike, but mostly the former.

Second position goes to “Fast and Furious 6,” which, though plagued by some negative buzz at first, was actually a huge box office hit. As you probably know, the franchise is now stalled after actor Paul Walker, one of the leads, died in a car crash explosion over the weekend.

Universal has not said anything officially but all signs indicate that the seventh film will be released with a slight delay, as soon as producers and writers come up with an idea of how to re-write the story around Walker’s demise.

The animated “Despicable Me 2” is on the third spot, while horror flick “The Conjuring” follows close. “The Wolverine” lands in at number 5, with this new installment finally pleasing fans of the popular X-Men character, who had been holding a grudge against the studio since “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” if not actually from before that.

The rest of the top 10 is comprised by the buddy cop movie “2 Guns,” “The Great Gatsby,” “Oz the Great and Powerful,” “Snitch,” and Zack Snyder’s first Superman film “Man of Steel.”

As you must have noticed, these are the most searched films in the US. Depending on territory, the top 10 varies but some of these films mentioned above can also be found elsewhere.

For instance, in the UK, the most searched movies were, from 1 to 10: “Iron Man 3,” “Kick-Ass 2,” “Despicable Me 2,” “The Conjuring,” “Oblivion,” “Diana,” “Star Trek into Darkness,” “Fast & Furious 6,” “The Croods,” and “Man of Steel.”
