Iranian authorities have arrested a man suspected of hacking into more than 1,000 foreign websites. Most of his targets are from the United States and Israel.

According to Trend, the hacker claimed that he breached the US and Israeli websites out of curiosity and to demonstrate that they were not properly secured.

On the other hand, some of his hacks were performed to show support for the victims of the earthquake that hit the Eastern Azerbaijan province of Iran a few days ago.

Police have also learned that the same man is responsible for hacking into the website of Iran's National Television Network (IRIB). This was one of the attacks launched in support of the earthquake’s victims.

Iranian cyber police representatives revealed that some of the attacks were performed “through Facebook.”
