Mojtaba Ahmadi, the commander of Iran’s Cyber War Headquarters, has been reportedly assassinated. His body was found near Karaj, a town located north-west of Tehran.

According to The Telegraph, which cited Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps website Alborz, the cyber war chief was last seen on Saturday as he left his home for work. He was found shot in the heart twice.

Individuals who saw his body have told the Iranian publication that Ahmadi appeared to be assassinated with a pistol, from a close range. Two people on a motorcycle are believed to be involved in the murder, local police representatives stated.

The Imam Hassan Mojtaba division of the Revolutionary Guard Corps says that it’s investigating Ahmadi’s death. However, they advise against jumping to conclusions as far as the identity of the culprits is concerned.

Since 2007, a total of five Iranian nuclear scientists have been killed. Iran has blamed Israel’s Mossad for the assassinations.

Before Ahmadi, the latest victim of an assassination was Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, a chemist at the nuclear plant at Natanz, the facility targeted by the notorious Stuxnet malware.
