Word has it that Iran is getting ready to send another monkey into space. Thus, local media reports say that one such mission has been scheduled to take place sometime next month.

By the looks of it, the monkey's adventure is intended to help scientists in this country figure out how to successfully launch a human into space, and hopefully bring him/her back, by 2018 at the latest, Space tells us.

As reported, Iran claims that it successfully sent a rhesus monkey into suborbital space and then brought it back to Earth back in this year's January.

However, many doubt these claims, simply because the animal presented at news conferences before the supposed space flight and the one presented after the mission had ended did not look alike.

Interestingly enough, it was about a month ago when Iran also announced that it wanted to send a Persian cat into space.
