Suricata, a high-performance Network IDS, IPS and Network Security Monitoring engine that is open source and owned by a community-run non-profit foundation – the Open Information Security Foundation (OISF), is now at version 1.4.3.

According to the developer, Suricata 1.4.3 is just a bugfix release, with no new features and changes.

Highlights of Suricata 1.4.3:

• A missed detection for negative offset in bytetest, bytejump and byteextract, has been fixed; • IPS mode is now unable to drop tunneled packets; • The OS X Unix Socket build has been corrected.

A complete list of changes and new features is available in the official changelog. Suricata is developed by the OISF, its supporting vendors and the community. This means that the developers need the active support of the community in order to improve the software.
