Canonical has been working to get Ubuntu on phones for more than two years and their efforts are finally showing after the first devices from BQ have started shipping in short flash sales. The truth is that the Ubuntu system was working long before it officially arrived and it's been pretty stable for many months. That means that developers have started to make apps for this platform for quite some time.
The Softpedia team already released a simple webapp and a scope for the official website, and we're now working to also publish a scope for the YouTube channel. This can be done with relative ease because Canonical made the publishing and the development of this simple app very easy. Basically, everyone with a Nexus 4 or BQ phone will be able to build one.
The Softpedia Twitter Scope keeps users informed
Most of the articles we write or the updates we make for the applications and distributions in our database arrive on Twitter. This makes the Twitter scope a very useful one, if you want to know everything that happens in the FOSS world. You can also take all the regular actions like Reply, Favorite, or Retweet, although you will have to open the Twitter client. It's also possible to search for something specific in the Twitter feed, which is a really cool feature.
There are still some problems that need to be ironed out, but this is the Linux community and it won't be hard to find out the solutions, if you don't figure them by yourselves.
