Taking photos of yourself on your own isn't exactly a novelty. We all have been doing it at some point, but in recent times this seemingly “harmless” action has been gaining colossal proportions following the introduction of the term “selfie.”

A lot of device manufacturers have been picking up this trend and so released smartphones designed especially for this purposes.

But just last month Sony surprised everybody (or just shocked) when it introduced a selfie-centric Cyber-shot camera shaped like a perfume bottle. If such a product doesn't seem crazy enough, the next one will probably make you question the sanity of some of your fellow human beings.

Say hi to the Selfie Brush

Snapping photographs of yourself with a perfume bottle could be interpreted as being schizophrenic in some circles, but what about doing the same with a hair brush? Yes, you heard us right, such a thing exists and you'll soon be able to purchase one.

The concept behind the Selfie Brush goes as follows, you attach a brush to your smartphone and whenever you feel like snapping a selfie, you’ll have the tools to make yourself look pretty before pressing the triggering button.

How does it work?

The brush has been designed to give you quick access to the smartphone’s main buttons, so thanks to the left side slot you’ll be given access to volume controls buttons ensuring that while on the phone / listening to music, you can still remain in control.

There’s also a bottom slot, so you can charge your phone while it still resides in the brush. The brush has a frontal opening so the entire smartphone screen is accessible to you and you’ll be able to answer a text or two during your selfie breaks.

The phone slides in through the top slot, which also gives you access to the on/off switch of the smartphone.

Selfie-addicts can have their pick at pink, purple and black brushes and the official website for this creepy accessory claims users will be able to get professional results if they choose to brush their hair with the gizmo (no more trips to your hair stylist).

For the time being, the brush is compatible with the iPhone 5 and 5s, but more smartphone models will be following, most likely from the Samsung garden.

Pricing and availability for the Selfie Brush have yet to be announced, but we’re really curious to see for how much the producing company will market the product. We’re not sure there’s a demand for such a product, but if it comes at an affordable price-tag, who knows.
