If you are nothing short of an eco-conscious user, then you will be happy to know that Microsoft has debuted a new initiative designed to tailorfit just such an audience type. In this sense, the Redmond company has announced that MSN Green, the latest addition to its online network, will serve visitors with nothing but "green" articles, pictures and videos. Ecological content is of course the main specialty on the
MSN Green channel's menu.
"MSN added a new channel to its online information and entertainment network called MSN Green
- a one-stop online resource for the latest environmental news, exploring the issues and taking action. MSN has teamed up with some of the leading media and environmental sources, MSNBC, Hearst Magazines (The Daily Green), Conservation International, Environmental Defense, Grist.org, TreeHugger.com and StopGlobalWarming.org, to offer the new channel," Microsoft revealed.
This is of course not the first green endeavor from the Redmond company. Microsoft has in fact been one of the driving forces behind the LiveEarth ecological phenomenon at a global level, and the company is also involved in a range of green projects such as Climate Savers, an alliance with the likes of Google, Intel, HP, Lenovo, Dell and others. Via MSN Green, Microsoft promised users access to diversified ecological content and environmental materials from articles to multimedia and interactive offerings. Even from the get go of MSN Green, users will be able to enjoy eco-friendly articles, tools, images and videos.
"MSN Green addresses a growing demand for green news and information, as measured by traffic and visitor click-throughs on the network's other channels. The webcast of the July 7, 2007, environmental-awareness concerts on liveearth.msn.com was the most popular online entertainment event in history based on simultaneous viewers, generating more than 15 million streams the day of the concerts and surpassing the number of people who watched the event on TV", Microsoft added.
