The Ubuntu Medicines Lens is an Unity Lens that allows users any user to easily and quickly find medical information directly from Unity Dash.

You can search by drug name, product/brand name or company name. The results are listed in two categories: Summary of Product Characteristics and Patient Information Leaflets. A filter is also provided, allowing users to choose between the Medicines.ie or emc.medicines.org.uk sources.

To install the Unity Medicines Lens plugin in your Ubuntu operating system, open a terminal window (hit the CTRL+ALT+T key combination) and paste the following commands (one by one, hitting Enter after each one):

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:markjtully/ppa
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y install unity-lens-medicines

You will need to restart your session after the installation. This Lens is available only for the Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) and Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal) operating systems.
