Ubuntu Flickr/Shotwell Photos Lens is a Unity Launcher plugin that allows you to search for online photos on Flickr and local photos imported in Shotwell. The photos can be sorted by date and by the person how took them.

To install the Unity Flickr/Shotwell Photos Lens plugin in your Ubuntu operating system, open a terminal window (hit the CTRL+ALT+T key combination) and paste the following commands (one by one, hitting Enter after each one):

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:scopes-packagers/ppa

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install -y unity-lens-photo unity-scope-shotwell unity-scope-flickr

You will also need to restart your session after the installation. Be aware that it is available ONLY for Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin).
