Contrary to what some might assume, it appears that being homeless and having a keen eye for fashion are not mutually exclusive. 55-year-old Slavik, who now lives in the city of Lviv in Ukraine, is here to prove that style isn't just for those who have a job and a roof over their head.

Not to beat about the bush, Slavik, whose story is now making headlines, is said to be the world's most fashionable homeless man. If you're having trouble believing that he deserves this title, check out the photo gallery below. Trust us, his outfits will surely impress you.

How can a homeless man be fashionable?

According to Oddity Central, 55-year-old Slavik gets his clothes from trash bins and aid centers in the Ukrainian city that he now calls his home. He's so successful whenever he decides to go on a quest for a new outfit that he changes clothes at least twice a day.

True, the clothes this man wears aren't exactly clean. What's more, it's pretty obvious that they've seen better days. Still, this does not mean that Slavik cannot use his sense of fashion to mix and match them to create unique, stylish outfits.

What's more, word has it that, apart from being extra careful about his wardrobe, this man likes to style his hair and beard to make sure that it goes with the outfit he’s wearing and even goes through the trouble of shaving his armpits on a regular basis.

Slavik's rather unexpected rise to fame

Apparently, it was an Ukrainian photographer named Yurko Dyachyshyn who turned 55-year-old Slavik into some sort of a celebrity simply by snapping some photos of him around the city of Lviv and sharing them with the online community.

The photographer says that he met the homeless man several years ago, while working on another project. He could not help but notice how stylish he was and decided to offer him money to let him take a few pictures of him. The two eventually settled on $1 (€0.8) per meeting.

Yurko Dyachyshyn says that, as far as he could tell while hanging around with Slavik, the 55-year-old has some mental health trouble. The photographer last saw the homeless man back in January 2013 but is confident that, soon enough, they will meet again.

“Slavik is the most fashionable homeless in the world. He is a homeless gypsy but not an ordinary one. His way of life is different that of other homeless,” photographer Yurko Dyachyshyn told the press in an interview.

“He does not carry lots of bags, nor does he rummage in the trash cans. He has a hiding place and nobody knows about it. He keeps the secret of his home,” the artist went on to explain.
