Featuring the Diva (S7070) and Diva folder (S5150) handsets

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics announced today the launch of Samsung Diva Collection 2010,’ a new series of handsets that are aimed mainly at female cell phone users. According to the company, the new collection includes devices like the Diva (S7070) and the Diva folder (S5150), yet they are only the first of a series of handsets that will be released each ear with women consumers in mind.

“The Diva and the Diva folder are especially designed for modern women who seek high-fashion and a luxurious lifestyle. Exquisitely designed inside and out, the two alluring phones boast beautifully embossed quilted back covers that emanate an haute couture look and feel,” the company states. Both devices come to the market with appealing looks, as well as with features created specifically for women, including the 'Beauty Effect' and the 'Lomo Effect.'

“Today’s modern women play many roles, from fashionista to heroine. The Samsung Diva Collection delivers mobile phones accentuating all aspects of the stylish, attention-getting woman to let the diva in everyone come to life,” said Younghee Lee, vice president of Mobile Marketing, Samsung Electronics. “The Samsung Diva Collection 2010 is a part of Samsung’s long-term goal to meet the unquenched needs of one of our most important target group, women mobile users.”

The new Samsung Diva (S7070) sports a pearly-white embossed quilted back cover and a diamond-shaped crystal button on the front, as well as a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, pop-up SNS for fast notification on Facebook and MySpace updates, a multi-instant messenger, ‘Fake Call,’ ‘Etiquette Mode,’ ‘Wish List’ or ‘SOS Message’ features. Samsung Diva folder (S5150) comes with a hidden LED screen, a silver-toned back cover, ‘Beauty Shot’ and ‘Lomo Effect’ editing features for the camera, just as the Diva device, as well as the built-in security features that were mentioned above, including ‘SOS Message’ and ‘Fake Call.’

The new Samsung Diva Collection 2010 is set to be launched in January 2010 in the Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine and other European countries, announced the company, adding that Southeastern Asia and China are expected to receive the handsets shortly after the initial launch.
