Imagine a computer system that would let you interact with your private content or various applications you might need on it, in a way that no other computer can. Picture what it would be like not needing a mouse, keyboard or any other wireless controller, because all you'd have to do would be just to move your arms a bit. Imagine that this product we are talking about comes in the form of a 18.4-inch notebook that is excellent as a desktop replacement. Now, with these being said, think that you could be seeing them
all in about one month in one of Toshiba's latest notebooks.

Dubbed Qosimo G55, this notebook has been built to provide its users with a number of high-performance specifications. And, while its computing power is reasonably high to allow its users to consider the G55 a desktop replacement, it's another feature that makes the G55 different from all the other high-end notebooks. The G55 is the first of its kind to boast a Cell Processor, which allows it to enable gesture control, fast video encoding and more. All of these will be packed into a notebook that uses a combination of black chassis, LED illumination and metal highlights for a more aesthetic look.

The Quad Core HD Processor (powered by the same Cell Processor that runs PS3) allows users to control media and office applications using just their hands. With the help of the built-in webcam, the notebook senses the movement of your hands from 3 to 10 feet away, while the Quad Core HD processor interprets your hand motions in real time. Using the built-in camera for other functionalities than just internet chatting sessions isn't a new concept, as other applications can allow users to protect their notebooks through face recognition technology.

The G55's control technology might be a little hard to get used to but, once you succeeded in doing so, you will be able to control your media applications in a unique and probably fun way. You will need to have you fist closed in order to allow the camera to recognize it as a cursor on your desktop. This might prove quite difficult in the long run, especially since you will have to keep your hand in the air for considerable periods of time.

Apart from that, this 10.8-pound desktop replacement will offer you a nice array of technical features including the latest next-generation Intel Centrion 2 technology, NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT graphics, 4 GB of RAM, dual 250 GB hard drives and others. All of the above, and more, will become available next month for an estimated price tag of $1.549.
