Users of Nokia devices have now a new application available for download for their devices, namely Nokia Shoot & Tag, currently in beta, which comes with automatic scene-tagging technology. The new mobile application comes from the Nokia Research Center, and was developed for handsets running under Symbian^3 or S60 5th Edition.

“Nokia Shoot & Tag is a clever video application developed by Nokia Research Center, Beijing that automatically creates scene chapters in your video while recording,” a recent post on Nokia Beta Labs reads.

“This innovative tagging technology was created to provide a convenient playback experience when viewing videos.”

When shooting videos with the new mobile application, the video tagging technology inside it would automatically recognize shifts or changes in the background images, and would tag them as new scenes or chapters.

As soon as the user completed the recording, he / she can easily browse through the video's scenes by clicking on the pre-organized scene frames that would appear on the left side of the screen.

“Simply press record and Nokia Shoot & Tag will automatically “tag” key scenes in your video, allowing a more convenient video playback experience,” the said post continues.

“Instead of fast forwarding through your video for that perfect moment, the tags act as chapters that you can click on, which take you directly to your desired spot.”

The new Nokia Shoot & Tag is an evolution of the Nokia Video Cuts gallery application, which was outed via the Nokia Beta Labs too a while ago.

The development team behind the application is evaluating new ways to improve the software, and they ask users to provide feedback, so that they would make an idea on what to change or improve.

The application is available for download on Softpedia as well, via this link. Those interested in learning some more info on the software should have a look at the video embedded below.
