Introducing LG GT350, a New Messaging Phone

South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics announced today the launch of a new messaging handset, the LG GT350. According to the company, the new device comes to the market not only with a QWERTY keyboard for enhanced messaging capabilities, but also with built-in applications for major social networks, as well as with a 3-inch full touchscreen display.

The leading telecommunications solutions provider also announced that the new handset was meant to enhance the capabilities of the previously released LG KS360, a messaging device that landed on the market back in August 2008, and which was sold in more than five million units all around the world. The handsets offer slide-out full QWERTY keypads which were designed to prove great options for messaging enthusiasts, the company added.

The new LG GT350 comes with more raw power when compared to its predecessor, while also including enhancements to its social networking capabilities. The four-row QWERTY keypad should make typing as easy as on a computer, while the 3-inch WQVA screen sports full-touch capabilities, an upgrade from the partially touch-enabled screen on the KS360, the handset vendor notes. The new LG GT350 also comes with real-time push e-mail functionality, as well as with the possibility to register multiple email accounts so that the messages are received on the handset as soon as they arrive on the server.

“Social networking is a strong suit for the LG GT350. Its entire interface is optimized for social networks, providing full integration with sites like Facebook, Twitter. It aggregates information from multiple social networks onto one screen, making it easy to instantly check status updates, keep track of friends and respond to messages. For direct access to social networking sites, the LG GT350 has a dedicated shortcut key on the keypad. In addition to social networking, the keypad also includes dedicated buttons for accessing push e-mail, the web browser and instant messaging,” LG states.

According to the mobile phone maker, the new LG GT350 is expected to become available for purchase on the European market starting with April, and is also set to arrive in other markets around the world afterwards. Those interested in the messaging device will enjoy it in four color options, including Aqua Blue, Purple, Light Silver, and Black, though the company says that some of them will be exclusively available via certain operators only.
