Computer maker Acer has already delivered some pretty appealing mobile phones running under Google's Android operating system, and the new Acer beTouch E140 seems to be yet another such device to join the series.

The new handset was announced officially last week as a small device included in the Acer family of smartphones, which includes all the cutting-edge technology that users want to find in such a product today.

The new mobile phone comes to the market with a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, complemented by 3 hard keys for enhanced usability, and the possibility to enjoy increased personalization options courtesy of the intuitive interface the device was packed with.

The new device is powered by the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system version, and offer support for a number of more than 90,000 applications available for download via the Android Market.

Moreover, the handset offers a fast web browser, along with increased performance levels, support for Flash Player 10.1, the possibility to install applications onto the SD-card, and more.

“Thanks to the integrated Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter applications, your community will always be in your pocket and at your fingertips,” Acer notes.

“And with the slot for the MicroSD card (up to 32GB), the space you need to archive multimedia content like music, photos, and videos is multiplied, so you never have to give up anything,” the company continues.

Acer beTouch E140 comes with pre-loaded applications as well, including the free Acer Spinlets streaming service, nemoPlayer, or the Acer UrFooz.

The new mobile phone also comes with a 3.2 megapixel photo snapper on the back, FM radio with RDS, a 1300 mAh battery for increased usage time, and support for 3G+, HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

“Finally, it is perfect for managing both personal and professional e-mail accounts with readable attachments. And so you can always be updated, it's easy to synchronize contacts with the web (via Google Cloud Sync) or with other PCs at home (via Acer Sync),” the company concludes.

Unfortunately, Acer did not announce official details on the handset's availability.
