Intex Technologies (India) Ltd has announced recently the launch of two new mobile phones, the IN 5000 and IN 5040, both of them aimed for the mid-level market. In addition, Intex also states that the new IN 5000 marks its debut into the GSM touchscreen mobile phone segment, and that its 2-inch TFT touchscreen display is able to offer users a “crisp and clear medium to operate the phone and flip through the various functions.”

At the same time, the new IN 5000 has been wrapped up into a leather flap, which eliminates the need of an additional mobile cover. The device comes to the market with FM radio capabilities, mobile tracker, photo snapper, GPRS, Bluetooth connectivity, multimedia features including audio and video players, 1000-contact phonebook memory and a memory card slot for additional storage space.

The IN 5040 comes as the second handset in the company's portfolio to include dual-SIM capabilities. In addition to allowing users to benefit from two phone numbers at the same time, the device also includes a photo snapper and FM radio capabilities, as well as Bluetooth with A2DP, USB PC connectivity, audio and video player and 1000-contact phonebook memory, not to mention the memory card slot that will allow users to add more storage space into the equation.

When announcing the new mobile phones, Shailendra Jha, DGM, Intex Technologies, commented, “In keeping with INTEX policy of offering latest technology products at competitive prices, we are glad to announce the launch of IN 5000 and IN 5040 handsets. We are confident that these models, with their richness and diversity of features, will appeal to most cost-conscious and tech savvy consumers. Consumers can look forward to more dual SIM models in the G + G genre in the Q 1 of this FY.“

The new IN 5000 is available on the Indian market at a price tag of Rs 5,000, while the IN 5040 costs Rs 5500.
