Indian mobile phone maker Intex has released a new smartphone on its homeland market, in the form of a 4-inch Intex Aqua Style handset.

Intex is one of the most popular handset vendors in the country, and the new Aqua Style device arrives on shelves with an affordable price tag attached to it, which should make it very popular among users on a budget quite fast.

The smartphone sports a 4-inch touchscreen display, which makes it one of the smallest phones in the Aqua Style series (which also includes a 5.9-inch model).

The new Intex Aqua Style was announced in Black and White versions, with a price tag of only Rs. 5,990 ($98/€73) attached to it, a recent post on fonearena notes.

This brand new handset sports a 4-inch IPS OGS touchscreen display capable of delivering a WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) resolution.

Moreover, the mobile phone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, which should be able to provide users with pretty decent performance capabilities, especially since it is accompanied by 1GB of RAM.

At the same time, the device was released with 4GB of internal memory, as well as with a microSD memory card slot that enables users to add up to 32GB of additional storage space to it.

On the back, the Intex Aqua Style features a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, which should be able to record videos in HD resolution, and which is paired with a 2MP front-facing camera, thus allowing users to take selfies and make video calls while on the go.

The smartphone also includes support for 3G HSPA+ networks in the country, while featuring WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, along with a built-in GPS receiver that should prove a great option when it comes to navigation.

A 1400mAh battery was also included in the smartphone, along with 3.5mm audio jack, and FM Radio. Moreover, the smartphone features Dual-SIM functionality, which is one of the most sought for features in smartphones in emerging markets around the world.

On top of that, the new Intex Aqua Style runs under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system right from the start, thus providing users with some of the latest enhancements included in the mobile platform.

The handset will certainly prove an appealing option for many users in India, especially since it pairs more than decent hardware specifications with the aforementioned Android KitKat platform iteration, and with an affordable price tag.
