The Aqua N2 is the new entry-level Android smartphone launched by Indian company Intex. The smartphone has just been released in India via major retailers across the country and can be purchased for only Rs 6,990 ($115/€80) outright.

According to AndroidOS, Intex Aqua N2 comes pre-loaded with Matrabhasha, an application that enables support for 22 regional Indian languages on the device.

Otherwise, the phone is powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and packs a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor possibly provided by MediaTek.

As expected, the Aqua N2 offers dual-SIM support, so Indian users won’t have to purchase a second handset if they own two phone numbers.

Furthermore, Intex Aqua N2 sports a decent 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixel resolution.

On the back, the phone features a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front, there’s a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls.

Potential customers should know that, on the inside, the phone is equipped with 512MB of RAM and only 4GB of internal memory.

However, Intex added a microSD card slot, so users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB. Last but not least, Intex Aqua N2 embeds an 1400 mAh Li-Ion battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

Fans of the Indian brand should know that Intex plans to launch two additional smartphones in the country, the Cloud X5 and Cloud Y4. Stay tuned for more details on their release.

“Intex has devised Aqua N2 keeping in mind the need for users to have access to a variety of content without any speed or connectivity constraints. The phone provides best of features at a reasonable pricing without compromising on superlative mobility experience demanded by the users,” said Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Intex business head for mobile phones.
