Interzone Futebol Jogs to Brazil

New football MMO announced

With the UEFA Euro 2008 just started, football fans all over the world should be ecstatic, since this is the moment to

see the best European National teams in action. Still, some people want more than just to watch - they have to actively take part in the game, especially if it is a football match. Add Brazilians to this - avid football fans and players - and you get the receipt for a successful sports MMO game.

Dubbed Interzone Futebol, this PC exclusive soccer game will soon be released in Brazil and international versions are also in the works and expected to hit the Internet as soon as possible. One interesting thing worth noting is that the developers Interzone Entertainment is a company located in Australia!

Now... back to the game. Interzone Futebol features team-based multiplayer matches, with every character on the pitch being controlled by a different human player. However, unlike any other football game released until now, the goalkeepers will be human-controlled, too! We're really looking forward to see this implemented.

Also, players will improve their personal rankings and their team's rankings, earn money through salary or sponsorship and eventually spend it on all sorts of customization items. It seems that the soon to be released Football Superstars has already got a real competitor. And we all know that competition is good for us, the gamers.

Oh, and if you are still wondering why Interzone Futebol will first be released in Latin America, president Marty Brickey explains, "Of 17 World Cup championships, 11 have been won by South American nations, with Brazil winning a record five World Cup titles. [...] We decided first to create Interzone Futebol in Portuguese so it will have the broadest appeal to this very large Portuguese speaking market in Brazil."
