When you hear something like "The Interpol is coming to the
Xbox 360", you start wondering what have those "way too talkative kids" done now? However, the answer is completely different from what you might
be expecting: they did nothing bad and this Interpol that's coming to the console is only a casual game with enough police-quest twists to deserve such a name. And we truly hope that the Interpol will never have to interfere with our gaming pleasure.
Back to the game: as I was saying, Interpol is the latest XBLA title to be published by Sierra Online. Developed by TikGames, it invites you to track down the evil Dr. Chaos by following his path of destruction to exotic locales around the world. You will be armed with investigative spy abilities including "zoom" and "hints" (hey, every spy needs a hint, OK?), you'll find hidden clues both large and small in a series of elaborate crime scenes and you will, eventually, catch Dr. Chaos, because that's the way
casual games are built: to be won!
One of the most important features of the game is the fact that it will allow co-op play for up to four people - which is quite a twist to the "find the hidden object" genre of the game. The rest of the things brought to us will be the same you know from similar games, with the required variations, of course.
This means that we'll have to explore a host of exotic locations, such as San Francisco, Cairo, Paris, Tokyo and more (why must every casual game have chapters in Paris, Cairo and Tokyo?), we'll receive tons of puzzles to solve and hundreds of mysterious objects to search for and every now and then, the gameplay will be interrupted by little mini games (like discover the similarities or differences).
