Internet Security Systems, the Atlanta-based enterprise security company has revealed in a press release the inking of a partnership with antivirus provider BitDefender. The alliance will also bridge the two company's security solutions, integrating BitDefender protective features in the Proventia Desktop Endpoint Security.

"While behavioral-based technologies such as VPS are extremely powerful for stopping unknown threats, ISS recognizes that organizations also use antivirus and anti-spyware solutions for scanning and removing known malware. By integrating BitDefender's antivirus and anti-spyware capabilities into our desktop product, we are offering our customers a comprehensive solution for handling both known exploits and unidentified malware."

Jared Hornsby, executive vice president at Future Com, Ltd., an ISS partner welcomed the technological marriage and the creation of a tiered, comprehensive and cost-effective security solution. The two companies have announced that ISS Proventia Desktop with integrated antivirus and anti-spyware is planed for market release at the beginning of 2007.
