
Internet Security Systems, the Atlanta-based enterprise security company has revealed in a press release the inking of a partnership with antivirus provider BitDefender. The alliance will also bridge
the two company's security solutions, integrating BitDefender protective features in the Proventia Desktop Endpoint Security.
"Our unique VPS technology provides unprecedented protection against unknown zero-day malcode by recognizing malicious behavior and blocking it accordingly," said Greg Adams, Vice President, Product Development at Internet Security Systems. "While behavioral-based technologies such as VPS are extremely powerful for stopping unknown threats, ISS recognizes that organizations also use antivirus and anti-spyware solutions for scanning and removing known malware. By integrating BitDefender's antivirus and anti-spyware capabilities into our desktop product, we are offering our customers a comprehensive solution for handling both known exploits and unidentified malware."

Jared Hornsby, executive vice president at Future Com, Ltd., an ISS partner welcomed the technological marriage and the creation of a tiered, comprehensive and cost-effective security solution. The two companies have announced that ISS Proventia Desktop with integrated antivirus and anti-spyware is planed for market release at the beginning of 2007.
