Microsoft has improved Internet Explorer a lot lately, but it turns out that many companies are still staying away from the latest releases, in part because of the compatibility issues that could be experienced with their internal software solutions.

Redmond is trying to address these issues with a new Internet Explorer feature called “Enterprise Mode,” which, according to ZDNet, is already part of Windows 8.1 Update 1.

The new tool is currently locked in this new Windows update, but Microsoft is expected to make it available for enterprise versions of its operating system before launch.

AngelWZR, one of those who have provided information on leaked Windows builds, has explained that Enterprise Mode is indeed included in Windows 8.1 Update 1 and has said that built-in documentation claims that this particular feature “helps improve the compatibility of websites identified by your company.”
