Microsoft did it again

Isn't it odd that a corporation the size of Microsoft is not able to adapt its own browser to support tabs and in the same time be compatible with one of their own operating systems?

It was a rhetorical question. We've already gotten used to the limitations of the Redmond giant, who's trying to cope with the countless bugs pestering the current systems, the new Longhorn operating system and the list can go on.

Microsoft announced the release of Internet Explorer 7, which will finally support tabs, and everybody was happy. "We're actively listening to our major Windows 2000 customers about what they want and comparing that to the engineering and logistical complexity of that work," said IE team leader Dean Hachamovitch.

But as for Microsoft things are never what they seem to be, now, one month away from the launching of Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1, the company's officials are reconsidering their position. It looks like it won't be compatible with Windows 2000, due to, obviously, security problems.

If Microsoft goes on like this, Internet Explorer will most certainly lose even more ground to Firefox, which has a slow but steady growth rate.
