Microsoft has already launched Internet Explorer 10 and will soon debut version 11 for both Metro and desktop users, but some people around the world are still running the utterly-old Internet Explorer 6.

The company’s Internet Explorer 6 Countdown page reveals that 6.3 percent of consumers worldwide are now using the 11-year-old version of its in-house browser, despite its efforts to move everybody to a newer release.

Chinese users seem to be quite addicted to IE6, as 24 percent of them are still running this particular version, but figures have dropped all over the world.

IE6 has a market share of 0.2 percent in the United States, 0.3 percent in Argentina, 2.8 percent in India, 3.5 percent in Taiwan, and 1.7 percent in Russia.

“Its name was Internet Explorer 6. Now that we're in 2013, in an era of modern web standards, it’s time to say goodbye,” Microsoft reiterates on the website.
