Internet Explorer 11, the default Windows 8.1 browser that’s also available for Windows 7 users as an optional download, is going to get a new series of improvements in the coming future, as part of the Windows 8.1 Update 1 rollout prepared by Microsoft for April.

Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 will also get the Enterprise Mode that’s rumored to be included in Windows 8.1 Update 1 in order to allow companies to add compatibility for a number of websites.

Microsoft does not provide too much information on this new feature, but a small feature description included in Windows 8.1 Update 1 claims that Enterprise Mode “helps improve the compatibility of websites identified by your company.”

As you can see in these screenshots, Enterprise Mode still needs to be manually turned on in Windows 7, but it’s a clear sign that Microsoft plans to bring it to the market sometime this year.
