The browser received a few improvements today

Microsoft might already be working on Internet Explorer 12, but the company remains fully focused on the existing version of the browser, so today’s update shouldn’t come as such a big surprise.

Internet Explorer 11 thus received a feature update as part of Patch Tuesday, and as Neowin writes today, the browser now displays a Bing search box whenever you open the new tab page. The same happened to Google Chrome not long ago, so it pretty much makes sense to see Microsoft implementing its very own search engine in the browser it builds.

The KB3004247 bulletin that was addressed to Internet Explorer users also reveals that History and Favorites group headers are no longer displayed on the suggestions list of the address bar, thus creating more space.

What’s more, the browser was updated to not display domain suggestions for sites that you never visited before, as the company worked to make the system a bit more relevant and effective.

There’s no need to download anything in order to get the latest version of Internet Explorer, and it’s enough to simply check for updates and install the available patches in Windows Update.

Internet Explorer 11 is currently available on Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 only, so in case you’re running Windows 8, you should better update to 8.1 as soon as possible to get the new version.
