Microsoft has just announced that Windows 7 users can now download Internet Explorer 11 Release Preview and thus give a try to the company's latest in-house browser.

While no details have been provided, Microsoft indicates that this remains a preview version of the IE11, so a number of issues might still be experienced. Nevertheless, the browser is supposed to be faster, easier to use, and safer than all the other versions, it noted.

Internet Explorer 11 Release Preview for Windows 7 requires service pack 1 and at least 512 MB of RAM to work properly.

IE11 is the default Windows 8.1 browser and comes in two different flavors supposed to make the most of the tech giant's modern operating system, namely Metro and desktop, with the first offering touch-optimized features and battery optimizations aimed at tablets.
