Windows 8.1 Preview also comes with an early version of Internet Explorer 11, thus allowing early adopters to try out some new features of Microsoft's latest in-house browser.Internet Explorer 11 has been specifically optimized for the touch, so it now supports up to 100 different tabs per window, without affecting the overall performance, battery life, or browsing speed. At least, that's what Microsoft promises.
“Up to 100 tabs per window, with independent tab suspension for efficient use of memory and battery, and faster switching with tabs that are there when you need them, out of your way when you don’t. Responding to feedback, IE11 has a new option to always show your tabs and address bar for faster, easier access with the mouse or finger,” Microsoft explained.
Just like its predecessor, Internet Explorer 11 comes with both desktop and Metro versions and serves as the default browsing app for desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones.
