Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft’s latest browser that’s offered as the default option for Windows 8.1 users and as an optional download to Windows 7 consumers, is now the third top app of its kind, according to a new set of stats.

Internet Explorer 11 has a market share of 11.51 percent, enough to secure the third position after Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 26.

Microsoft’s new IE version has posted an impressive growth in the last few months, growing from 1.49 percent in October 2013 to 3.27 percent in November and to 10.42 percent in December.

As you can see, IE11 started the year with a 11.51 percent market share and figures are very likely to grow more as more users move from older versions of Windows either to Windows 7 or to Windows 8.1, both of which are supported by this browser build.
