Internet Explorer 10 is now the number one Microsoft browser worldwide, as it managed to overtake all the other versions in the first 15 days of September.

While Net Applications data for the month of August shows that IE10 is still behind IE8, StatCounter figures for the first two weeks of September 2013 reveal that the default Windows 8 browser is currently the number one IE version on the market.

While Chrome 29 still tops the rankings with 33.51 percent of the market, Firefox 23 is the runner-up with 13.96 percent, according to StatCounter. IE10 comes third with 12 percent, followed by IE8 and IE9 with 9.28 percent and 5.74 percent, respectively.

Internet Explorer 10 is currently the built-in Windows 8 browser, but all eyes are on the next version of the app, as Microsoft has already completed development of IE11 and Windows 8.1. Both are scheduled to debut next month.
