The leaders of the Russian anti-Putin movement organized an online election to choose an alternative parliament called the Coordination Committee.

The organizers of the online ballot were forced to extend the duration of the voting after the computer systems that supported the event were reportedly attacked by hackers.

According to EuroNews, some of the individuals who wanted to vote were unable to log into the system.

Russian President Vladimir Putin doesn’t seem to be concerned about the opposition, stating that they don’t have a unified program.

On the other hand, the opposition believes that this online election is a step towards democracy, despite the fact that Kremlin is determined to ignore the vote.

In the meantime, massive anti-Putin protests are scheduled to take place all across Russia.
