The Internet tends to reach another level in China where more and more users are populating the virtual world. A recent study conducted by the China Internet Network Information Center revealed that no less than 162 million Chinese users accessed the Internet in June, PC World reports. If you didn't know, the CNNIC is the organization that monitors the Internet activity in China. According to the research, the number of Chinese users accessing the web was increased with 34.5 points which means approximately 79.5 million users. In 2005, the Internet usage grew with 18.2 while 2006 brought only an 18.1 increase of users.

"Most Chinese Internet users-- 122.4 million people-- get online using wired broadband, CNNIC said. Wireless Internet access is also widely used, with 55.6 million people using this method, including 44.3 million people who access the Internet from mobile phones, CNNIC said, noting that some users access the Internet with more than one type of connection," PC World reported.

However, there might be some other facts that increased the Internet usage in China, not only the growth of the residents with web connections. According to the same source, the CNNIC organization modified the concept of an Internet user and included in the research every person that accesses the Internet for at least one time in 6 months.

However, it is well known that China is an incredible rich market, numerous companies struggling to expand their offerings into the Asian countries. Take the example of the Mountain View giant Google that is always preparing new moves to be made in China and attract the local users. Still, it's pretty much to work since the majority of users is still attracted by the local leader Baidu and its suite of utilities similar with the ones offered by Google.
