New rom-com / action film gets international trailer, seems just as bland

In preparation for Valentine's Day, director McG has a lovely surprise for you: “This Means War,” which will come out on February 17. It just got a new international trailer, which you can see above.

In all fairness, this new international release is not that different from the trailer we saw back in mid-October, though it does feature less of Chelsea Handler and more of Tom Hardy and Chris Pine.

The two are best friends CIA agents who happen to be dating the same woman, Reese Witherspoon. Instead of settling this the mature way, they decide to practically go to war against each other, in the hope of landing the girl.

With speculation online saying the project might already be doomed since the leads were recently back on set for reshoots (though reshoots can happen for a variety of reasons), the latest trailer does little to convince one of the solidity of the story.

As we also pointed a while back, it's quite a stretch to imagine two CIA agents would go to these lengths to get the affections of one girl, even if she's as pretty as Reese – let alone to do so and not get punished for it.

Even so, with such attractive leads, it's probably not that far-fetched to imagine “This Means War” will turn out to be a box office hit.
