A hacker of Pakistan Haxors Crew is behind the cyberattack

Kai-H4xOrR, a Pakistani hacker, member of the Pakistan Haxors Crew, has breached and defaced a subdomain of bsnl.co.in, the official website of Indian telecoms company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).

According to E Hacking News, the hacker has targeted the International Roaming subdomain (ir.bsnl.co.in). The hack comes in response to recent attacks launched by Indian hacktivists against Pakistani websites.

“Payback for hacking Pak sites! Don’t mess with Pakistan else you will lose both your name and this game. Back off lamers from our cyber space. Everybody knows whose cyber space is more vulnerable. You will hack 1 we will hack thousands,” the hacker wrote on the defaced website.

At the time of writing, BSNL has removed the defacement page and restored its International Roaming subdomain, but a mirror is available on Legend-Hacks.

BSNL is often targeted by Pakistani hacktivists, mostly because it’s a high-profile company and its websites contain numerous vulnerabilities.

As I’ve recently highlighted in an editorial, it’s unlikely that the cyber battles between Indian and Pakistani hacktivists will end any time soon. Even if some groups call a truce, there will always be others that will keep launching attacks in an effort to show their superiority in cyberspace.

Update. The hacker has informed us that he has also defaced the Value Added Services subdomain of BSNL's website (vas.bsnl.co.in/vas).
